federal legislation; state nullification
Our Position: oppose
SB1433 is another bill that seeks to ignore or undermine federal laws that certain legislators do not like. It asserts that Arizona and its citizens are not required to recognize or live under any federal legislation that has been nullified by simple majority vote of the Legislature on the grounds of constitutionality. It sets up a committee to make recommendations on nullification. The committee consists of legislators and legislative leadership.
